Ugh, I took my first online Biology quiz last night. bombed it - 3 out of 5. I have been alternately despairing and nonchalant. I have been making flash cards. I stopped using the elliptical at the gym and switched to stationary biking so that I could study while exercising. I am hoping that when taking tests in class, without my kids yelling in the background, I will perform better. Yeah, that's it, it's the kids that distracted me. Sure.

Stephen, who is the bestest friend ever, went behind my back and added my Saturday horticulture class. Joy! The last time we ever had a class together was, ironically, high school science with Mr. Baker. Wow, did we have interesting teachers.

Mr Baker!! Man, he was something, wasn't he? He also taught drama my sophomore year,it was the only time we did anything interesting. We even got to do scenes with *gasp* swear words in them!

Don't be so hard on yourself. Getting back into the swing of things can't be easy. Just keep studying, you'll get it!

I never had Mr. Baker - he was the black one, right? I never had the cool teachers, except for Mr. Bradford. Bradford was cool.

Don't forget Mr. Kreichbaum (sp?)!!! I spent 30 minutes in his chem class before deciding to take the TV production class with... Mr. Baker!

Do not despair! Flash cards are the best!! I've been kicking booty in my Bio class because of them.

Its hard going back to school at our age. My memory is shot to hell, but in the little time that I...what was I talking about?

You'll do better next time I swear. It sucks, but you just have to put more time into it.

And Mr. Baker was let go for a sexual indiscretion with a student if memory serves. Sex of student not in memory bank, but consider yourself lucky Christine!

An Mr. Kriechbaum!!! LOL! He was like a dementor, sucking the life and joy out of the students he taught.

I've been lurking for oh so long- but have to comment on this one. I have total and complete faith in you and know you'll do much better coming up. The first quiz or test is always sort of like getting a feel for the teacher. Did they focus entirely on what they lectured on? Did they throw in some surprises? After the first one- you'll be better prepared for the types of things they'll throw at you next time around. I think returning to school is brave, but at the same time you don't give yourself enough credit. If anyone has the umph- you do.

Oh, man. Mr Baker. He hated me. But, then again, most teachers hated me in high school, and for good reason. I especially remember Mr. Baker always talking about how much he looooved Janet Jackson. In fact, he skipped most of our lesson one day in favor of talking aobut how one day she will be his ladylove....

He was fired for a sexual indescretion?!?! Somehow, that does not surprise me, yet it kind of does. Mr. Baker was a bag full of surprises, that's for sure.

I could go on forever about some of our wacky and cool Don Lugo teachers. Hey, since I do not blog, and probably never will, maybe that can be an excellent blog topic for you Colleen, or one of the other Don Lugo alumni who read this blog. If you do, just somehow let me know because I would love to read it and add my own .02 cents worth!
